Experience History First-Hand

During Viking Summer, visitors may have the opportunity to try traditional crafts, learn about runes and Viking Age traditions, or take part in games and other activities. The programme varies from year to year, but there is always something new to discover, questions to ask and opportunities to learn about life in the past.

Depending on the programme, activities may include blacksmithing, working with wool or clay, listening to stories and music, or exploring the historical landscape. Curiosity leads the way, and history becomes something to experience together.

A Living Viking Village in Beautiful Surroundings

Storholmen Viking Village is located beside Lake Erken, just north of Norrtälje. The village features reconstructed Iron Age houses, a great hall, a smithy and herb gardens, creating a unique environment for exploring the past.

Take your time to discover the village, enjoy the activities and explore the surrounding countryside. Nearby, you will also find nature reserves and opportunities for swimming, making Viking Summer a wonderful family outing.
