There is plenty to discover during Children’s Viking Day. Try traditional crafts, learn about runes, explore herbs and medicinal plants, or take part in games and other activities. Depending on the programme, there may also be music, storytelling and fascinating tales about life during the Iron Age.

The programme varies from year to year, but the aim is always to create a day where history can be experienced through all the senses and where visitors of all ages can learn something new.

Experience Life in a Viking Village

Storholmen Viking Village features reconstructed Iron Age houses, a great hall, a smithy and herb gardens, creating an immersive historical setting. Wander among the buildings, discover how people lived in the past and learn about traditional crafts and customs.

The surrounding area also offers beautiful natural scenery and opportunities for swimming, making this a lovely day out for the whole family.
