What can you do?
Learn from the Vikings as they do their everyday chores and crafts. If you want to try for yourself they will teach you what they know! try for example the blacksmiths hammer, create something out of wool, make a glass bead or a basket, or why not bake you own flatbread over the open fire? Learn how to write runes, the signs that adorn over two tousand rune stones in Uppland. The Chief and Housewife will tell you everything you want to know about the life of the Vikings.
During certain times of the day you will hear the cow-horn. The signal indicates something special is about to happen! For example Viking games, a boat trip, prehistoric music, lectures, or maybe the storyteller arriving.
The museum is beautifully located by the lake Erken in a historical surrounding with many viking age remnants. Several reconstructed buildings creates an authentic atmosphere. A big long hall was erected in 2019.
In walking distance from the village there is a Viking Age burial site with 166 graves and a nature preserve with oak trees, next to the viking village is a child friendly sandy beach.
